Susanne Piotter
Works by Susanne Piotter
About
Susanne Piotter creates and manipulates two- or three-dimensional environments, spaces or objects in order to produce her screenprints, sculptures and installations. Her works are planned precisely using analogue as well as digital means. Her artwork is often about human habitats e.g. house, town or landscape. She examines and refines places and things considering their state and perspectives. The Actual and the Fictional blend together and enable the viewer to see things in a brandnew way. The series 'Ein Haus verschwindet / A house disappears' blurs the boundaries between security and uncertainty, between man-made structure and incoming chaos. The relief 'Zusammenhalt/Cohesion' in three parts also shows everyday objects who developed an independent existence. Her graphical series 'Erfundene Landschaften / Fictional Landscapes' (developed from 3D-drawings and screenprinting technique) approaches human alienation from nature and the longing for wilderness and nativeness at same time. Susanne grew up in the Lower Rhine region, she lives and works in Berlin.
